Obituary of Janet Sue Fansler
Janet Sue Fansler, 67, Gas City, passed away at 8:26 p.m. on Tuesday, June 11, 2019, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. Born in Maysville, Kentucky, on December 21, 1951, Janet was the daughter of Clarence and Opal (Prater) Sloop.
On July 21, 1978, Janet married Larry Fansler, and they had three children: James, Jennifer, and April. She worked at Franklin Electric, where she was a line worker.
Most of all, Janet loved being in the home and caring for her husband and family. She enjoyed cleaning her house, having cook-outs with her family, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed many hobbies including scrapbooking, garage sales, planting flowers, riding on her golf cart, watching Family Feud and HGTV’s Fixer Upper, and playing games on her tablet. Whenever she had the opportunity, she loved going back home to Kentucky to visit family and friends.
She will be missed by her husband of 40 years, Larry; children: James A. (Tina) Fansler, Marion; Jennifer Lynn Robinson, Marion; April Dawn (Robert) Zent, Gas City; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Linda Shearer, Gas City; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Gerald and Milton Sloop.
The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with Janet’s funeral service beginning at 1 p.m. on Monday, June 17, 2019, at Integrity Funeral Care, 2901 S. Washington St., Marion, IN. Pastor Brian Mauller will be officiating with burial following at Grant Memorial Park.
