Obituary of Patty J Davis
Patty J. (Yeskie) Davis, 80, Marion, went to be with the Lord at 11:15 am on Monday, September 16, 2019, at Marion General Hospital. Born in Marion on Tuesday, June 6, 1939, Patty was the daughter of Ernest Lloyd and of Myrtle (Parish) Pearson.
She married William "Bill" Davis on October 12, 1996, and he survives. She was previously married to Dale Yeskie on November 11, 1956, and they shared nearly 34 years together before he passed away on September 10, 1990.
Throughout her life, Patty faithfully served both husbands, children, and step-children. She loved the Lord and was a member of First Christian Church in Gas City, where she also sang in the choir. She also held a membership with the CPC Sympathy Club. When the Easter Pageant was performed annually in Marion, Patty actively participated in the choir for many years. She was also part owner of a daycare in Marion for several years.
Numerous people enjoyed Patty's great cooking, especially her delicious cakes and pies. She loved music, singing, collecting angels, and bird watching. All who knew Patty would understand when people referred to her as "Penny's Parents and Grandma Penny". She loved to spend time with her grandsons, including watching them play baseball and football. They were her pride and joy.
She is survived by her husband, Bill; daughter, Kimberly (Scott) Harris of Gas City; step-sons, Jeff (Patti) Yeskie of Springport, Steven (Lori) Davis of Sweetser, and Christopher (Christine) Davis of Fort Wayne; step-mother, Loretha Loy of Muncie; brother, Meredith (Cathy) Lloyd of Yorktown; grandsons, Noah (fianceé, Brooke Bernardin) Harris of Gas City, Jonah Harris of Gas City, and Scott Davis of Chicago, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Dale Yeskie; father, Ernest Lloyd; mother, Myrtle (Loren) Pearson; brothers, Larry Lloyd, Sr., and Gareth Lloyd; daughter, Tina Rose Yeskie; and beloved Beagle, Penny.
The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Thursday, September 19, 2019, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.
Immediately following visitation, a service to celebrate Patty's life will begin at 1:00 pm with Pastors Jim Sonnefield and Peggy Hickman co-officiating. Burial will take place at Grant Memorial Park.
