Obituary of Cheryl I Bishir
“Heaven gained a beautiful soul” early Wednesday morning at 12:37 am on September 18, 2019. Cheryl Bishir, 65, Marion, passed away in her home and is now in the presence of the Lord Jesus. Born in Lynwood, California, on Sunday, July 11, 1954, she was the daughter of Rev. Lee and Beverley (Smith) DeSaulnier. On October 14, 1972, she married Jerry Bishir, and he survives.
Cheryl graduated from Marion High School. She worked in Donor Services as the Financial Services Coordinator for 44 years with World Gospel Mission and was a member of Bethel Worship Center.
Cheryl loved life, and it was clearly evident in her smile. She shared that love with others in so many special ways because of her love for the Lord. She loved to laugh, and she took that genuine joy in her heart and, in turn, made others laugh and feel cherished. She loved to work in her garden, she loved to shop, and she especially loved make-up and hair products! Her home also gave evidence of her bubbly personality by the many pretty flowers and plants she had.
She loved her family without end and always looked forward to the holidays when she could love on her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren for the time she had with them. She was very much looking forward to her retirement when she and Jerry could finally do extensive traveling. Cheryl was an inspiration to many, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of her family members, as well as countless friends globally.
In addition to her mother, as well as husband of almost 47 years, she is survived by her children, Jerry (Lori) Bishir, Jr., of Marion, April Wood of Boiling Springs, SC, and Brian (Heather) Bishir of Marion; grandchildren, Kyle (Carrie) Liston of Cromwell, Kylee (Dylan Sparks) Gunter of Lagro, Christen (Chazz Bruce) Bishir of Fort Wayne, Zachary Gunter of San Diego, CA, Cadyn Bishir of Marion, Zeb V.
