Obituary of Patricia A Marx-Maley
Patricia A. Marx-Maley, 84, passed away on December 24, 2019 in her home. She was born to the late Wayne and Christina (Magers) Thalls, Sr. on July 28, 1935 in Anderson.
Patricia lived in Libertyville, Illinois for twelve years where she worked as a cashier for a drug store. When she moved back to the Grant County area she was a child care provider, mother and homemaker. She married Norman Maley on July 7, 1979. He preceded her in death on April 17, 2009. In her free time she enjoyed growing, preparing and sharing food from her garden. She also enjoyed painting and she loved her cats. She was an avid reader and many knew her as “The Book Lady” and “Miss Pat” by her friends at J and L restaurant where she loved to eat and visit with her friends.
She is survived by her sons from a previous marriage to the late David P. Marx- Roger D. (Laurie) Marx, Timothy T. Marx and Phillip D. Marx, all of Marion; step-sons, Douglas A. (Amy) Maley and David E. (Mary) Maley, both of Indiana; sister-in-law, Rosemary Thalls, Santa Cruz, California; 1 grandchild, Kari (Brian) Kaylor; 4 step-grandchildren, Bradley Maley, Brian Maley, Crystal Maley, Kayla Maley; several nieces and nephews;
Patricia is also preceded in death by her son, Michael William Kiefer; brother, Wayne Thalls; sister, Lois M. Haley.
The visitation will be held at 10am on Saturday, December 28, 2019 in Owen-Weilert-Duncan Funeral Home, Marion Chapel, 2722 South Washington Street, Marion, Indiana. Funeral services will begin at 11am on Saturday in the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow in Grant Memorial Park Cemetery, Marion, Indiana.
